Yes. A common characteristic of handcrafted natural materials is that they take a little time to settle. It is completely normal for a new wool rug to shed loose fibers initially. This is simply a natural part of the weaving process and a sign of the genuine fibers used.

With regular vacuuming, the shedding will naturally subside over time. To easily manage any loose fibers along the way, you can gently sweep the surface with a damp cloth or a soft brush. Should you notice a stray thread, simply snip it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it, to keep the weave perfectly intact.

We always recommend checking your robot vacuum manufacturer’s specific guidelines regarding woven rugs in first hand. Generally, robot vacuums are an excellent choice for daily upkeep, though their gentler suction may require a bit more time to thoroughly refresh the pile compared to a classic vacuum.

For regular vacuuming, it is important to use a nozzle specifically suited for rugs to protect the natural fibers.

Heavy furniture can compress natural fibers over time. To preserve the pile, we recommend rotating your rug occasionally to distribute the weight. If impressions do appear, gently dab the area with ice-cold water (if it's wool), let it rest, and then carefully fluff the pile with your hand or a soft brush.

It is also natural for a new rug to show slight creases from transport or storage. To help it settle quickly, simply roll the rug tightly in the opposite direction and leave it for a few hours. Once laid flat, the fibers will relax and return to their smooth shape within a few days.

Yes. Most of our rugs are suited for rooms with underfloor heating. However, please note that this does not apply to our anti-slip rugs.

Rugs crafted with a natural latex backing require dry care to maintain their smooth shape. To protect the integrity of the binding, please avoid soaking the rug or using traditional wet cleaning methods.
