LAYERED bridge creativity, culture, and art into the physical space. Established in 2015 and based in Stockholm, LAYERED has grown to become one of Scandinavia’s most talked about interior design brands, awarded the Elle Deco Accessory of the Year and international press including New York Times, Elle and Vogue, to name a few.
Our collections begin with natural fibers and handcrafting — weaving, tufting and knotting, all done by hand by skilled artisans in Bhadohi, India and Samarina, Greece.
The design language is rooted in art and culture and our centerpieces take shape in our Stockholm studio, where the design team, together with founder and Creative Director Malin Glemme, explores how artistic expression can be translated into handcrafted textiles.

The LAYERED story began when our founder, Malin Glemme, unable to find a designer rug of premium quality that met her vision, decided to create her own. With a background in fashion, Malin was inspired by the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship. She designed a rug that reflected her aesthetic and had it woven by an artisan handweaver in Bhadohi, India – a region renowned for its craftsmanship and authentic hand-knotted rugs since the 16th century.
When the rug was featured in a Swedish interior magazine, Malin received so many purchase requests that she decided to launch her own interior brand – and LAYERED was born.
