CLEANING GUIDE

Have you discovered a stain or spill on your favorite rug? Don’t worry — with the right care, your rug can remain beautiful for years to come. At LAYERED, we design rugs to stand the test of time, and with thoughtful maintenance, their high quality will be preserved. Follow these effective tips to keep your rug looking its best.

QUICK TIPS

ACT FAST

The sooner a stain is treated, the easier it is to remove.

DAB, DON´T RUB

Use a clean, dry cloth and gently dab the stain to absorb as much fluid as possible. Then use luke warm water, and if necessary a small amount of soap or dish soap. Gently press against the stain to remove it. Never rub, as the stain will go deeper into the fibers.

VACUUM REGULARLY
Vacuum the rug at least once a week to prevent dust from settling into the fibers. Always use a vacuum nozzle designed for delicate surfaces.

PREVENT PRESSURE MARKS

If your rug has pressure marks from furniture, dab the affected area with ice-cold water and let it sit. Gently brush up the pile.

MATERIAL TREATMENT

The type of cleaning required to preserve the rug's quality and structure varies depending on the material.

Jute: Gently wipe with a dry cloth – avoid water.

Viscose: Dab carefully and apply a dry cleaning powder if needed.

Wool: Use a mild soap solution or wool shampoo and gently dab.

EXTEND THE LIFESPAN

Rotate the rug occasionally to minimize the risk of sun fading, and draw any curtains or cover your rug with a sheet to prevent color shifts.

Avoid dragging furniture back and forth over the rug, and use furniture pads or wheel protectors under sofa and table legs.

Air out the rug outdoors regularly to keep it fresh.

The lifespan of your rug depends on how well you take care of it. By taking the right measures, you can prevent wear and maintain its quality. With proper care, your rug will stay in excellent condition for a long time. For larger stains or difficult cleaning situations, we recommend professional rug cleaning for the best results.

Good luck! And don't hesitate to contact us if you need any further guidance.
