LAYERED and Swedish artist Evelina Kroon reunite once again in a collection of handcrafted wool rugs – this time paying tribute to the classic rya rug, reinterpreted with generous softness and graphic playfulness.

ABOUT EVELINA
Evelina Kroon is an artist and creative working in the fields of painting, color design, and scenography. Educated at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, she explores the intersection of art, design, and decorative expression – often with a strong connection to traditionally female craft practices. Her work is defined by a graphic, at times exuberant aesthetic, balancing strict structure with playful eclecticism.
The collection consists of five new handwoven rya rugs in 100% New Zealand wool and draws inspiration from the traditional rya rug – a Scandinavian long-pile wool rug with roots in 15th-century Norway. With a strong foundation in painting and graphic composition, Evelina continues to blur the line between art and interior design – this time with a focus on tactility, volume, and rhythm.
With references to traditional female craftsmanship, the design collaborations between LAYERED and Swedish artist Evelina Kroon balances bold graphic expression with a daring, unconventional color palette.
Dusk, Jute Rug.
The collection is released in three drops: the first features handcrafted wool rugs and oversized mohair blankets, while the second introduces a jute series inspired by Evelina’s signature graphic style and the new third collection featuring a collection of hand-knotted rya rugs in 100% New Zealand wool.
